I care about the way people learn and questions like "How do we create rich environments that allow children to develop powerful ideas?" I'm good at taking complex, ambiguous spaces, and turning it into things that are intuitive and simple. I thrive in collaborative teams.

The Onboarding & Training team co-created an onboarding vision with our education partner, Gradient Learning, to streamline new teacher and school-leader experiences on the Summit Learning Platform and reduce time to true engagement. The new onboarding provides teachers with a range of low- to high-touch learning experiences, including contextualized walkthrough videos, a course and data "sandbox", a "My Summit Assistant", and more. We also reimagined the teacher home page to provide teachers with immediate access to relevant information.
After an org-wide strategy shift, the Summit Learning Platform was finally ready for a redesign that was long overdue. The core instructional and projects flow were clunky, and the new platform needed to accommodate any type of curricula and assessments. We came up with six novel IA approaches, and prioritized two with engineering to move forward with.
The first model is the curriculum-based model where information is primarily organized by curriculum structure. This model prioritizes helping teachers understand their students' progress and identify differentiation opportunities.
The second model is a modal-based model where information is primarily organized by what the user is doing in the moment. This model prioritizes all the JTBDs in Differentiation, Giving feedback, Internalization, and Planning equally.
How do we empower students to take charge of their own learning in a classroom? One challenge we found students faced was not knowing what their interests are and how material in school is relevant to their interests. We set out to create an interest exploration tool that exposed students to new fields and ideas, and then connected established interests to skills they practiced in class.
